What happens in Session 1?
During the first session, we will discuss the changes you would like to make and focus on the most important to you.
As a unique and personalised approach is taken for each client – which involves establishing communication with the subconscious part of the mind – a variety techniques may be employed depending on the person and the issue we are dealing with.
Every technique used is a form of communication with the subconscious part of the mind and will be fully explained – and most techniques are also taught within the sessions to the client so that the process we begin together can be continued at home, at the client’s convenience.
It’s important to understand that this type of therapy is very much a collaborative process – not something which is “done” to a client, or a “test” to see if you can be hypnotised! It is also very important to be fully committed to making a long-lasting change – even if you have no idea yet HOW that change might happen!
Practical “homework” may be set to reinforce or gauge positive change e.g. self-guided visualisation, the outcomes will be discussed during subsequent sessions.
First sessions typically take up to 2 hours.
How many sessions will be required?
Hypnosis is not a magic wand – if there is an issue you have struggled with for 20 years, it’s not unreasonable to understand that it may take more than 90 minutes to fix. Having said that, I have witnessed my fair share of “miracles” when it comes to hypnosis and so don’t rule them out!
I recommend that clients commit to at least 3 sessions, along with the “homework”, in order to properly embed new “programs” in the subconscious or to achieve the desired shift in their symptoms or habit. Although “success” cannot be guaranteed, I can guarantee my time, expertise, and an interesting experience.
During subsequent sessions, different techniques may be utilised to enable forward progress but hypnotherapy does typically achieve faster results than other “talking” therapies, and this is because we are “talking” to the subconscious part of the mind actually responsible for the generation of symptoms and habits, rather than to the “rational”, conscious mind!
Allow 60 minutes for subsequent sessions.
Why is there a discounted 3 session offer?
I always recommend committing to 3 sessions and that is why I offer a discounted rate for clients who commit up front to 3 sessions.
The evidence below from my “Get Back to You” funded clients shows that end scores are higher after 3 sessions and often there is a jump between sessions 2 & 3.
Everyone is different but some reasons for greater sustained “success” include analysing very specific shifts / changes following the first session and targeting the attention to any areas which require more attention, but which were not necessarily “top” of the list in the first session.
The more “triggers” which are uncovered (often these can be very unconscious at the start of the process) the less likely that a person might “regress” back to old habits, which are often coping mechanisms to these unconscious triggers.
Sometimes it takes a session for the client to subconsciously feel comfortable enough to allow the “real” issues to come forward.
Usually I encourage clients to have 2 sessions around a week apart and then a 3rd session up to a month later. This big gap allows the client to get into a better self-care routine, incorporating some of the techniques which I teach and which helps to redirect the subconscious “pathways” along new routes for long term success – this is especially important if a longstanding habit needs to be interrupted or if a client has lost touch with their own bodily signals for e.g. hunger due to long term “yo-yo” dieting or disordered eating.
It also gives time for the client to try out some different situations in their lives which previously they might have found challenging. It’s important to always get out there and try things out in a very practical way.
Is hypnotherapy a “magic bullet”?
If you’re COMMITTED to making a positive change in your life then it can look that way to others but really it’s a collaboration between the therapist, the client and the most important “part” – the client’s subconscious mind.

1st Session Hypnotherapy – For new clients only, allow up to 2 hours as this appointment includes a full case history and you will learn various techniques such as self-hypnosis / self-havening / NLP anchor / ratio breathing etc to help yourself at home. £85
Follow-Up Hypnotherapy Session – If you are a returning client, or having a course of several hypnotherapy sessions. Allow 60 min. £45
3 Session Block – It is strongly recommended and encouraged that a new client wishing to tackle a specific issue commits to 3 sessions – please read why at the top of this page. 3 sessions are offered at the discounted price of £140 (normally £175). Choose a convenient date / time from the calendar and the follow up sessions will be arranged via email / phone. A personalised audio recording is also included. £140
Simply Havening – To offload negative emotions / stress or deal with something which currently has you “triggered” and which you are finding difficult to put behind you – think of regular Havening sessions as a sort of “mental & emotional massage”. You will leave feeling lighter and able to move forward with a clearer mind.
Book a session of “Simply Havening” for £35 for 45 min / £40 for an hour / £50 for 90 min
Magical Metaphors Clinic – for 1-6 parents / guardians. Learn how help a child to help themselves through the power of their imagination! Learn how to construct a “magical metaphor” story to help a child in your life who is struggling with a specific issue. You will also learn a fast and effective way to calm an upset child.

Personalised Audio Recording – following a 15 minute phone or online consultation I will create a personalised hypnosis / meditation recording to help with a specific issue affecting your life e.g. anxiety / habit / unwanted beliefs. £30

Stop Smoking 1 Month Support Package – To become someone for whom smoking / vaping is a thing of the past.
Support package includes: Phone Consultation, 30min Motivation Booster (if rqd.), 2hr Smoking Cessation appointment, Follow Up Session (optional – focuses on any underlying emotional issues related to the habit, up to 1 month following smoking cessation appointment). £200
EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) Session – To learn and put into practice EFT for yourself. EFT aids the removal of emotional “blocks” through tapping at various acupressure points. £30
Group Sessions – I offer various sessions which are suitable for groups of friends e.g. motivation for healthy eating / exercise, stress reduction, past life regression, EFT, self-havening, training for a specific event or race, studying & exam revision (16+), goal setting. This list is not exhaustive – please email me if you have a good idea for a group session! £120 for up to 4 people, extra £20 pp to a maximum of 7.
